What is Arthrosis?
It is a disease that attacks the joints promoting the wear and tear of the cartilage that covers the ends of the bones, but that also damages the ligaments, synovial membrane and synovial fluid. Articular cartilage has the function of promoting the sliding, without friction, of the bones during the movement of a joint. Wear and tear can cause pain, swelling and functional limitation. Although it can happen in any joint of the body, but it is more common in the lumbar and cervical regions.

What causes Arthrosis?
There are two forms of manifestation of arthrosis: the primary and the secondary. Each of them has different origins. Primary arthrosis affects the patient due to the prolonged and repetitive use of a certain joint or simply as a consequence of aging.
These situations lead to degeneration of the synovial fluid, which lubricates the joint cavities. This can also be a consequence of making wrong movements, such as exercising without the guidance of a professional. As a result, the cartilage is damaged, which causes greater friction between the bones, so that they end up losing their original shape, preventing the patient from performing a simple movement. The secondary origin, on the other hand, originates from congenital diseases and hormonal disorders, such as obesity, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, among others.
